How to Prepare Your Home for Your Air Duct Cleaning with Mr. Duct
Published 7/26/2023
Thank you for scheduling your air duct cleaning service with Mr. Duct! We look forward to providing you with up front and honest service. Please review the information below to prepare for our technician’s arrival.
Time
On the day of your scheduled service, you will be contacted approximately 30 minutes prior to our technician’s arrival. For single furnace homes, you can expect your air duct cleaning service to take 1.5-2.5 hours, while 2 furnace homes can expect the service to last between 3 and 5 hours. If you added a dryer vent cleaning service to your appointment, please allow an additional 30-60 minutes. The length of the service depends on a number of factors, such as the size of the home and the state of the ducts/vents. The technician on-site will be sure to keep you up to date with the status of your service.
Furniture
Moving any furniture that may block access to your vents is key to having a smooth air duct cleaning service. We ask that any furniture blocking your vents be moved prior to the service. We understand that there are some heavy pieces of furniture that aren’t able to be moved out of the way. In this case, the technician will do their best to work around it.
Provide a clear pathway
In order for our technicians to easily make their way through your home, we ask that you provide a clear pathway to the furnace(s), vents, and dryer/vent (if applicable). Providing a clear pathway ensures that our technicians have plenty of room to walk with their equipment, and reduces the risk of falling.
Window/door access
During your service, our technicians will need access to either a window or door. This window or door will need to be open for the majority of the appointment. Our technicians will use this opening to run a hose that connects our vacuum (on the exterior of your home) to the air ducts near the furnace. This vacuum will run for the majority of your service, as it will extract the build up and debris from your air ducts. Our technicians will do their best to close the door or window as much as their equipment allows.
Household pets
While most of our technicians are incredibly pet friendly, we do ask that pets that run or bite be put away for the duration of the service. As previously mentioned, a window or door in your home will have to remain partially opened for the majority of the service, and we would hate for your pet to get out of your home. The equipment that our technicians use can be loud and startle animals, so we ask that you make your best judgment as to what would be best for your pet(s) during the time of service.
We look forward to providing you with the best air duct cleaning services in the Chicagoland area! If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at (800) 501-4157, or email us at mrduct@mrductcleaning.com.
