The winter months can be a crucial time, especially in the Chicago-land area. We spend most of our time indoors and the air can become unhealthy. It’s important to keep the air fresh and clean. Here are some tips to help with Indoor Air Quality in your home.
Air Purifier
Air purifiers will improve Indoor Air Quality, by removing harmful particles, odors, as well as allergens. This is important for people who suffer from allergies or asthma.
Aromatherapy
An Essential Oil Diffuser is a great way to use essential oils to clean the air from viruses and bacteria, as well as freshen indoor air. It can be used in any room of the home. Make sure to use good quality oils that are free from additives.
Change Filters
It is important to frequently change furnace and air conditioning filters.
Dry Cleaning
When bringing clothes home from the dry cleaners make sure to hang them somewhere outside of the home, like the garage for the clothes to air out. This will help with the smell of the chemicals that are used at the dry cleaners.
Living Plants
Placing living plants throughout the home is a safe and easy way to add oxygen which cleans and purifies the air. It is important to keep the soil fresh using organic potting soil and the plants healthy. There are some plants that are pet-friendly that can be used.
Regular Cleaning
Frequently dusting and vacuuming will reduce airborne pollutants like pollen, dust mites, and pet dander. As always use non-toxic cleaning products.
